Until Next Year ...
Hey Cubs fans,

Well it was a disappointing end to what I thought was a great season considering all of the changes that took place from the coaching staff, all the way down to the everyday players.

Not to mention the fact we were 30 games below .500 last year.

I thought we made great strides in 2007 and definitely have something to build on next season. As for the playoffs, we simply ran into a team that was playing better than we were, and in the post-season that’s really all that matters when it only takes 3 W’s to advance. Winning your division is always something to be proud of, but to consider where we were last year makes it even more special.

One of the great stories of the season was the return of Kerry Wood. During the last game of the post-season, he was firing bullets close to 100mph like the days of old. That was definitely encouraging to see all of his hard work pay off. Hopefully he’ll be back in '08.

This season we came out of spring training with a lot of unanswered questions and maybe that had something to do with our slow start. I don’t see that happening in '08, but you never know. As all of you know, next year would be the 100th anniversary since the Cubbies won a World Championship--what better way to break out then 2008!

Last but certainly not least, on behalf of the rest of my teammates, I’d like to thank all of you for your support throughout the season. We certainly had our ups and downs but in the end you guys stood by us and we thank you.

P.S. It's not our fault they wouldn’t let the goat in the stadium.

Until next year.

3 Wins In A Row? We've Done It Before!
Mixing it up today folks – we’re just going to jump right into things.

Game 3 is a definite must win for us … plain and simple.

Arizona didn’t go as planned ,but the good news is that we’re coming home to Wrigley and playing in front of the best fans in the world. Game 2 was sort of a roller coaster. Our bats woke up, and we scored some runs but just not enough to win.

Again it was a well played game on both sides but D-Backs bullpen has been one of the best all season and they proved it over the last two games.

ich Hill is going for us in Game 3 and he’s been pitching well lately. I fully expect him to give us a good showing and am really anxious to take the field in front of our home crowd in October.

As I said earlier, our backs are against the wall and even though we need to take it one game at a time, it's going to take 3 straight Ws to stay alive. We’ve had plenty of three-game win streaks during the regular season, why not now?

I hope The Riot can come back and have an even better season next year. I think the key is making sure he's sporting his sexy-time mustache.
